A collaboration between RC Berg and Studio Reckless, this is the best looking 1/144 ZZ Gundam I have ever seen. It was extremely popular at the CharaHobby show with a huge line up of interested buyers, and it has been completely sold out...
The brand new Astro Boy action figure in 1/6th scale from Hot Toys will be arriving in Q4 of this year.
Standing 9 inches tall, Astro Boy will feature 22 points of articulation and come with a blue energy heart, battery illuminated x-ray eyes, spare fists and after-burner effects rocket boots, beam canon arms, and an adequate display stand.
I thought I was going to dislike any toys based on the movie after seeing the design (so I bought a takara version of astro from many years ago to fill the void), but looking at these pictures, it isn't bad, and in fact I'm slowing warming up to it. Good job Hot Toys!
Hot Toys website posted an update on the vinyl display Astro Boy coming in Q4 this year.
The figure as expected, only has limited movement, will stand 12.5 cm tall. The movie is actually coming in Oct instead of the summer as previously reported (the summer date was based on a movie trailer I saw in the theater awhile ago, sorry for the confusion).
Another on-line exclusive to reiterate, if you don't live in Japan, you lose.
Ok, preordering from Yamato On-Line shop will start in Sep and releasing in Dec is the redesigned "armour pack only" for Yamato 1/60 VF-1 series, retail price is 6800 yen. The additional gimmick this time is the micro missile firing parts, they look kind of cool actually.
Mr Kai Yasuo and Mrs Kai Emi's application beat 547 other applicants to be chosen as the couple to be married at The Gundam, the ceremony took place on Aug 25.
Bride and groom, both avid Gundam fans, walking down the aisle...
...Mr. Tomino's congratulatory blessing.
(Pardon any mistranslation).
I believe it's the second marriage for both bride and groom, the bride's last name was already changed early this year, and the couple welcomed their baby girl in Feb. In any case, let's all wish them happily ever after.

I grew up with old school Japanese animation. Now decades have gone by, and my interest certainly hasn't faded. Japanese animation has come a long way, and the quality has improved leaps and bounces (very evident from the Gundam OO and Macross F series). At the same time, I've noticed a resurgence of interest in the old school anime heros that I have loved for all my life. Many companies are digging out old robot designs and releasing toys and collectibles for the *akem* aging collectors alike.
I decided to create this blog as my personal tribute to the anime, robots, toys and anything in between, that I love.
