News: Bandai One Piece Fashion

One Piece character handy bag comes in 4 different styles, each will set you back 1000 yen. You can also go for the Luffy replica hat, 5000 yen, to battle the scorching sun this summer.

News: Bandai Tamashii Shop New Preorders

Arriving in Sep is the Eva Type 0 Kai in Robot Damashii format. For 4800 yen, it comes with the giant missile and the gatling gun (Eva Type 1 is not included of course). It's 160 mm tall.

Preorder for Bandai's next entry in the Armor Plus series has also just started, and for 8500 yen, you will be able to get your hands on the 170mm tall, zinc metal/abs/plastic figure of the Tekkaman Blaster Blade sometime in Sep.

News: Yamato Online Shop Exclusive 1/2000 Macross

Up to June 10, 2010, you can still preorder Yamato's limited exclusive 1/2000 Macross model kit. It measures 640 mm long and is made of industrial grade plastic. All that you need is 200,000 yen ($2000 USD), that's all...Expect to pay a lot for shipping, package size is 20 cm x 75 cm x 30 cm...

I always have an issue with the length of the Macross...In the anime, an entire city was inside the original Macross with enough room to do some serious dog fighting in valkyries. At 1280 m, the Macross is 3+ times the size of the USS Enterprise (the real nuclear carrier) and the carriers on both sides are roughly the same size as the Enterprise, but I still think the overall length of the Macross is somewhat misrepresented in the anime...

Admin: My second blog

I started this blog about a year ago to document my toy collection, but in between takes, this blog has evolved into a news blog (I think the lifesize Gundam was the culprit in the shift of direction, I got a lot of hits during that time). Anyway, I've been flirting with the idea of setting up a second blog that will contain only items from my collection - a combination of toy review and archive - to share with everyone. So without further ado, here is the sister blog to newtype revelation:

News: Banpresto New Special Creative Model: Gundam and High Mobility Zaku

Coming in October will be a couple of new entries in Banpresto Special Creative Model series, MSV version of Gundam and High Mobility Zaku. Gundam looks identical to the previous release except for the Kunio Real Type paint scheme. The Zaku on the other hand, has new parts and I really like the coloring.

I do have the anime color version of the Gundam in this series, it's very posable and the design is sharp...I like...

News: Largest Catcher Prize in History, Unicorn Gundam

GA Graphics posted these fabulous pictures of possibly the biggest catcher prize in history, a 350 mm Unicorn Gundam made of soft vinyl that will be coming in October from Banpresto. Looks like it comes with the MS hangar as well...I think they will do a destroy mode as well, and perhaps all these are prelude to the Perfect Grade.

News: Hot Toys Prince of Persia: Prince Dastan

Fresh off the press from Hot Toys is their preview teaser of the upcoming 1/6 Prince Dastan from Prince of Persia (on the left of course), I threw in yesterday's Jake pic for good measure.

Details to follow, but obviously includes his two swords and the dagger of time. I can't wait for the Gemma Arterton character Tamina to be immortalized in this format, hopefully, that one will be just like the Black Widow...An anatomically accurate depiction of the actress...woohoo!

News: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

This summer is a Hollywood film feast featuring many blockbuster movies, coming up this weekend is Sex in the City 2...oh, and Prince of Persia...

I am still not completely convinced about the casting of Jake Gyllenhaal as the Prince, but we don't have the sands of time to change things now, do we?

Anyway, from United Cutlery comes these two handsome replicas (1:1 scale) that will sure stirr up interests among collectors, the Prince's sword and, the Dagger of Time. Each comes with a wooden stand so they can proudly displayed.

Also coming from United Cutlery, is the replica of Kratos' favorite weapon, the sword thingy from God Of War. It also comes with a nice stand for easy access, you know, in case evil comes calling.

News: Bandai New Generation Chogokin (Super Robot Chogokin)

Here is the Chogokin Revolution that Bandai was touting about.

Super Robot Chogokin - their next generation of smaller (14 cm), more affordable chogokin using a new super alloy, whatever that means...

I am skeptical of the metal quality although some of the lineup shows up very well in these pics.

I read a review of a certain recently and some user commented that it's a good chogokin even though there is hardly any metal content...I beg to differ, the toy may be a good toy (it's the Tekkaman-Pegasus btw), but if you're gonna call it a chogokin or metal composite, etc., there better be some real metal parts, otherwise call it something else.

Mazinger Z is 3500 yen plus 1000 yen for the accessories.
