News: Brave Gokin 30 Gordian (July Update)

Anime-Export and Hobby Search websites had just posted these updated product pics of the upcoming Brave Gokin #30 Gordian. You can now preorder it from either website for about 23600 yen, it is targeted to arrive in November.

News: DX Chogokin VE-25S Armor Messiah Ozma Custom

Initially delayed and now scheduled to be released on Aug 12 will be this handsome 18000 yen DX Chogokin Ozma Armor Messiah.

I think this is a wicked design, possibly the best looking armored pack ever (especially in fighter mode). On a side note, the armour pack for Alto's messiah will be sold individually as a Tamashii web shop exclusive for 6500 yen, I had mine on preorder. But seeing how Bandai just changed the color of the "I thought it was an exclusive Super pack" for Alto's DX Messiah, and repackaging it as the Alto Super Pack combo, I say there is a fair chance that we will see a re-colored Alto Armor Pack Messiah in the future.

News: Kobe Tetsujin Project

By now, you probably know that there is another 1/1 project happening in Japan. I was too caught up with the Gundam that I couldn't get into the mood to write about this until now.

Since January 2006, the city of Kobe had been planning to commemorate one of the city's most famous citizens, manga writer Mr. Yokoyama Mitsuteru, with a life size statue of his most recognizable work, Tetsujin 28. The memorial will serve as a monument to encourage literary expression and creativity, as Mr. Yokoyama's works no doubt had paved the way for the popularity of modern anime.

The statue will stand 18m high (same size too) and will be permanently erected at the Wakamatsu Park. Construction is set to begin in August and will be finished by late September.

In two months, there will be at least two things to do in Kobe...visit this guy and eat Kobe steak. Awesome!

News: Banpresto Humable Model #4 Gundam and GM

Recently released by Banpresto (Banpresto is a division of Bandai), here are a couple of very decent action figures at a fairly decent price of 1450 yen each.

Both of these are designated as #4 (4th release) in the Humable Model line...no, it's not humble, I take it that the word means Human-Able or Human-like perhaps, referring to their range of action?

The Gundam is actually a re-release of #1 in the series, with new box art.

As you can see, they don't come much more posable than these, although the top of that last picture is somewhat disturbing...oh, I guess they are helping each other to exercise?

Banpresto has some good stuff from time to time, if you like these, you may also want to check out this special creative model coming in Oct for the same price:

Just a word of caution, although both the Humable and Special Creative lines are posable, not all of Banpresto products are action figures, in fact, a majority are for display only. The key is Research, research, research!
