1:1 Gundam project fabrication pictures

Here are a few screen captures of the 1:1 Gundam during fabrication.

Gundam's head and various armour pieces during fabrication, with Gundam creator Mr. Tomino Yoshiyuki san on hand to do some quality control (...,no, not really, he was invited by the project lead to visit the progress and chatted with the folks who were doing the actual build...You got the feeling that he's like, the godfather to all those who are involved).

Gundam's head being delivered and put together.

A close up of the finishing details, completed with warning decals et. al.
From my limited understanding of Japanese, I believe the armour were sculpted in MDF first and then a replica was made using FRP (which I think is fiberglass reinforced plastic), to give the armour pieces structural integrity yet light weight so it won't collapsed or bring the metal frame down.
