Review: Revoltech Queen's Blade Leina

So here it is, the first release in the new wave of Revoltech figures from Kaiyodo. The new designs are now packaged in standard size boxes, giving them a more organized appearance on store shelves and more effective product marketing (...not kidding here, that's what Kaiyodo hinted in the accompanying booklet).
In this initial shipment, the figure is packed with a mini Assemble Borg figure in the black plastic bag. The accessories include Leina's sword and scabbard, a broken chest armour, a shield, figure stand, spare hands and facial expression, and also a plastic crate to store the spare accessories. Apparently the spare crate will be a standard with each figure.

First feel is that the plastic in the fleshy parts of the figure is definitely of higher grade than before, somewhat like that used in the figma figures. Needless to say, Leina is highly posable. To replace the chest armour with the optional piece, you have to pull out the legs and head, and then loosing the armour pieces front and back. The back armour piece is the one where the leather whips are attached to. Blue masking tape does not come with the figure...

The new design revoltech figures seem to have taken a page from figma, and now offer optional facial expression. Leina's armour pieces actually had a glossy finish which did not translate well on these pictures, I will repost some when I have a chance.
Leina is about the same height as Saber in figma format, standing at about 14cm.

I like the Leina figure and am pleased with it, I'm still completely crazy about the ball joints though, they sometimes can act up and I'm aways afraid to break them.
The mini figure in the package is this green assemble borg, only the ball joints in the shoulders are movable, Kaiyodo wants you to buy additional ball joints from them and replace the rest of the joints to make it into an action figure. Yeah right!
