Review: Robot Damashii Gundam OO

Gundam OO was the Robot Damashii series' launch product, and it doesn't disappoint.

This was the first item from the robot damashii series I acquired, as a matter of fact, just got this last month. I was somewhat confused (don't know where this fits in) when the series was launched as Bandai's action figure lineup was pretty crowded already with MSIA, Advanced MSIA, GFF, GFF metal composite, HCM Pro, Super HCM Pro, etc. It looks like Bandai is replacing MSIA and Adv. MSIA with this series while the GFFN will probably replaces GFF. So, I studied a lot of the pictures and reviews before sinking $24 big bucks into this. Well, as it turned out, it's quite a gem!

The figure is made of high grade plastic and some POM in the joints to allow for smooth action, the pieces are molded in color so you can play with this thing all you want. The articulation is superb, you can pretty much pose it to your heart desire.

It comes with several spare hands and attachments for the GN Sword II so that it can be converted from the rifle to sword mode and into the double blade sword mode. The GN shield can be separated into two pieces, and mounted under each GN drive or on the forearm. There are also a pair of beam sabers for good measure.
I really like this figure, it may be mostly (99% give or take) plastic, but it's nicely sculpted and ready for action right out of the box. I also see some potential here, and I am planning to scratch build optional parts to enhance the figure...I think a couple of GN Sword III and a booster unit will complement this nicely...
