News: CM's Corp Chojin Sentai Baratack

The next Brave Gokin (#34) is going to be Chojin Sentai Baratack - Super Human Battle Team Baratack!

Been waiting for this one to come out, just not expecting another pricey entry, this one is going to be 23800 yen at full price. I am going to wait and see what the market does, having learned my lesson with Gakeen. Anyway back to the story.

I remember this as the last of the magnetic robot series in my childhood, may be because I grew out of this type of shows, in the end, especially the final episode, I remember saying to myself, this is a pretty childish (aka lame) ending...***spoiler alert***...I think all the bad guys turned good and were forgiven, and not that they did anything too bad in the first place, obviously there was zero bloodshed.

The show such as it was, didn't affect how much I like this robot design, although I have always been fond of the magnetic robots: Jeeg, Gakeen (very hot female lead), Godam (one of the best shows)...

This seems to be dutifully reproduced with a ton of accessories, and comes with t he five planes that combined into the command plane (the heros are quick smart to fight from a distance).

News: CM's Corp Chara Hobby Event Special Gundam X

This is interesting, someone other than Bandai is making a Gundam model...

This is a special event item from CM's Corp at this year's C3xHobby Show (Chara Hobby) which starts on August 29. It's a resin cast kit with a limited production run of 60, with a price of 15000 yen it will stand at 190 mm (that makes the scale a little under 1/100, I think).

Despite the unsuccessful run of the anime, I actually kinda like the design of Gundam X.
Note that this is a resin kit, so it's unassembled and unpainted in the package.

Coming at the end of August is this limited edition (300) Time Mechabuton from CM's corporation.

Other than the color, this looks to be same offering as the normal version. 10800 yen, so 1000 yen more than the blue version.

You can check my review of the normal version under the Time Bokan label.

Review: CM's Corporation Time Mechabuton

Here we are, the first time travel machine in anime history...I think.

But who cares, the important thing is they released the Time Mechabuton again, and I am not going to miss it this time. The anime predates Gundam and was one of my favorites, although I must admit, I usually found the heroes a bit annoying, so I tend to cheer for the villains, and frankly who can resist Marjo's charm (and her eye pleasing outfit!) as the lead villainess.

So back to this guy, the production quality is high and the finishing is crisp. There's a fair amount of metal used, basically where all the blue metallic paint is. The bottom has two panels that open up so that the wheels, on a spring-loaded mechanism, can be folded inside the vehicle.

To deploy the wings, you simply pull back the silver button above the thrusters, and in fact, you have to do this before the wheels can be stored inside.

I think the inclusion of Marjo's skull vehicle, which she and her gang always escape in after their mech is defeated by our heroes, is a nice touch. The small red scout vehicle that usually sits on the top of Mechabuton, also comes with optional arms and wheel assembly, allowing you to reenact the way it would look in the anime. I just want to say that these like vehicles are really well done, they have a lot of details and are well finished.
Overall, I am quite please with the item, even though I tend to think it is slightly overpriced at 9800 yen. Having said that, a number of the on-line stores I shop at have sold out on this already, so in that sense, the acquisition was a good one.
I am looking forward for the next release in this series, the grasshopper vehicle (name escaped me), which is actually my favorite time machine in the anime.

CM's Corp Prototypes for Future Release

Came across these product info on a magazine so I'd like to share them. These prototypes of possible future products were on display at a CM's Corp trade show, there's quite a variety of super robot in the plans...

There's Chojin Sentai Barratack, Firedagon and Orguss...the Barratack set with all those accessories kind of remind me of the Gakeen set.

Then there's Neo Getter and Gaiking...

and Nadesico's Aestivalis.

CM's Corp Brave Gohkin LineBarrel Mode B Miyazawa Limited

CM's Corporation posted updated pictures of their Brave Gohkin LineBarrel Mode B Miyazawa Limited Version and the special figure that will come with it. Retail for 17800 yen, it's supposed to be released some time between now and August (I came across 3 different sources of release date, I'd say August sounds most likely).

CM's corporation Brave Gohkin Gordian

It looks like this may be CM's corporation next major release in their Brave Gohkin line, scheduled for November.
Seeing this reminds me of the old gokin toy I used to have, the hips can't move in the old version, and the legs can only bend backwards at the knees, the whole thing was stiff...
This is now available for pre-order at www.angolz.com
