I started this blog about a year ago to document my toy collection, but in between takes, this blog has evolved into a news blog (I think the lifesize Gundam was the culprit in the shift of direction, I got a lot of hits during that time). Admin: Missing in Action

Wow, I've been missing in action for 4 months, just want to express my thanks to those who continue to support and visit this blog, and also apologize for being away for so long.

In this 4 months, I managed to visit HK (and surprisingly did not buy any collectables) and picked up a new hobby. Though there are some cross over with the main theme of this blog, the new hobby is, by and large, not related. But that won't stop me from showcasing this new collection on my blog...Just a hint, this hobby is extremely popular in the Pacific Rim...

Some recent news, no doubt every one knows that the 1/48 Gundam G30th version is coming in March, you kind of have to laugh at those who bought the almost 90000 yen 1/60 statue from Yahoo...

Shipping to N.A. is about $23 USD. From what I understand, the parts cost 3500 yen + about 800 yen shipping from Bandai to a local Japanese supplier, so it sounds fair...

Admin: 40th Anniversary of the Moon Landing

Just watching a whole bunch of programs on the Discovery channel relating to and celebrating the Moon Landing some 40 years ago (Neil Armstrong and team left on July 15, 1969 and arrived 5 days later, that means they stomped the surface of the moon 40 years ago today, July 20). Very inspired by the achievement, reminds you that mankind can do great things, not just set up ponzi scheme to cheat retired widows of their life sayings.

And if you haven't checked out the HD images from Japan's Kaguya lunar probe, well, you should. It confirmed once again that the moon is...dark gray, and the earth...it still looks stunningly beautiful.

Now why would Zeon want to drop space colonies on the beautiful earth is beyond me.

Slowly going through the pile

I am slowly going through all the goodies I have purchased in the last while, so updates to the blog has not been as frequent as I'd like. I hope to be able to pick up the speed moving forward. I guess that also depends on how quickly I can finish the 1/144 Gundam O...and also, the 1/144 Exia RII comes with both GN sword blade and GN sword III blade...interesting...

Recent issues

Last Friday, I found out that my pre-ordered Shin Mazinger Z Chogokin was not shipped at the end of May as it was supposed to, so I will be filling in a review of EX Gokin Mazinger instead. It may be another 10 days before I can do a review of the Shin Mazinger.

Today, another issue with the shipment I received for an assortment of captain herlock figures, this is waiting to be resolved...

And I've been outbidded again on the Hot Toys Ironman, so it will be a while before a review will show up. Just a tip for eBaying, supposed shipping cost is fixed for 2 identical items, if you can use "buy it now" on the item for $2, chances are you shouldn't be bidding for the same item for $2.1. Sometimes I just shake my head when I see people acted so irrationally during a "bidding war"...

I am currently hung up on the transformation process as you can see, the hip joints are very stubborn and refused to extend...and I refused to pull them out with brute force for fear of breaking them...


Space Pirate Captain Herlock super extended special.

I guarantee by the time I am finished with this extended special review (likely to be several parts), you will be so sick of seeing the good captain, his friends, and his Arcadia(s)...there may be a certain train involved somewhere as well...

Cleaning up topics labeling

Photo quality improvement

Found a way to improve on the photo quality...with the help of artificial lighting and proper white balance adjustment. Several images have been updated on previous postings when identified.
