News: Yamato Online Shop Exclusive 1/2000 Macross

Up to June 10, 2010, you can still preorder Yamato's limited exclusive 1/2000 Macross model kit. It measures 640 mm long and is made of industrial grade plastic. All that you need is 200,000 yen ($2000 USD), that's all...Expect to pay a lot for shipping, package size is 20 cm x 75 cm x 30 cm...

I always have an issue with the length of the Macross...In the anime, an entire city was inside the original Macross with enough room to do some serious dog fighting in valkyries. At 1280 m, the Macross is 3+ times the size of the USS Enterprise (the real nuclear carrier) and the carriers on both sides are roughly the same size as the Enterprise, but I still think the overall length of the Macross is somewhat misrepresented in the anime...

News: Yamato Macross VF-1 and VT-1 battroid mode optional parts

From what I gathered, a company called T-Rex is partnering with Yamato and will be selling these pilot seat extension optional parts for the VF-1 and VT-1 Battroid mode at the Wonder Festival.

Cool as these may look, it's still somewhat hard to justify the 3000 yen price tag though.

Yamato Macross VF-1D Virgin Road

So this is color variation with a twist, I guess.

Fashioned after episode 25 of the original Macross series, Yamato will be releasing this "happily married ever after" version of Max's VF-1D in September for 9800 yen.

It will come with a tuxedo clad Max and wedding gown wearing Millia.

Yamato Starship Trooper Battleship - Roger Young

Measuring 22.5 cm and made of tin alloy, here is the Space Battleship Roger Young from the movie Starship Trooper (Sample picture shown, not final product).

Yamato will be releasing this limited item (1000 pieces worldwide) in October for 12800 yen. The serial number will be etched onto the resin made stand that comes with the ship.

Apparently, this was the brainchild of Yamato USA, the first in their Sci-Fi Gallery lineup.

Yamato VF-1S Colour Variations

Yamato is releasing a few color variants of there 1/60 VF-1.

This is the "IF" version of Roy Focker's VF-1, the test prototype "if it existed" between his VF-0S and his VF-1S. This is coming in September for a mere 9800 yen...I actually like the color scheme.

Max and Millia VF-1J TV version with super pack will be coming in October for 12800 yen.

Yamato Clear Part for Macross VF-1

GA Graphics posted a gallery of the optional clear parts for Macross VF-1 that I reported earlier, I must say, they look kinda cool. It costs 1500 yen for the 6 pieces.

Yamato GN-U Do VF1 Battroid from Macross

Here's a first look at the new Macross battroid action figures from Yamato's GN-U Do series ("Do" means action).

The Hikaru and Max versions will be released in July, while the Production version in August. The sculpting seems to be very good and the figure has good articulation, but at 3980 yen, and unable to transform, it seems a bit pricey.
