News: GFFN Unicorn Gundam

Updated pics of the GFFN Gundam Unicorn Final Battle version from the novel...I won't count on having any real metal parts in this one...

I must say, I am not too fond of this design, way too messy. I wish it looks like that support vehicle from Gundam OO first season or something...

Review: GFFN Gundam Unicorn ReZel

Just got my GFFN ReZel, so just want to share some thoughts. These pictures are borrowed from GA Graphics because the site has good pictures and I am still fiddling with my studio set up...(not ready to take pictures yet).

Personally, I think the GFFN is going down hill if they don't start to address some value issue. If you read my review on the 1st item released in this series (the ZII), you would know that I really had high hopes for it since you really get a quality (lots of metal joints), well designed, sharp looking piece in the ZII. Then I got the GFFN Strike, ok, good design, much less metal usage, still, sharp lines...

Then I got the ReZel, you'd notice that the packaging is identical to a normal GFF (other than the label 'Next Generation' of course, the first two releases both featured a different designed package from the standard GFF). There is very minimal metal in this figure if any at all, it's very sharp and the plastic is of high quality, but I just feel being misled...this is more like a transformable Robot Damashii item to be honest...

News: GFFN Cagali Strike Rouge & Launcher-Sword Striker

To be released in Dec, here is Cagali's Strike Rouge with Launcher and Sword attachments from the GFFN series. This looks to be a Tamashii shop exclusive and will be available for 8800 yen.

Review: Bandai GFFN ZII

The GFFN ZII, I cannot believe how well made this is.

This is a total surprise, as I already owned the initial GFF ZII released a few years ago. When the GFFN version was announced, I thought, there isn't a chance in the world I'd be pick this up since it looks more or less the same as before. Bandai, I'm no sucker, you know!


To be honest, after I bought the original GFF ZII, I took a look at all the different attachment parts, figured it's too bothersome and filed it inside my vault. To date, it still has yet to come out of the box, but it will see the light of day as I intend to do a side-by-side soon. So now back to this new one.

Just received this GFFN version a few days ago, I was impressed that the figure is pretty much as it, there were a few things for the stand, 2 bazookas, a Z Gundam rifle, and the beam cannon in the picture. Under a different brand, this figure probably will be labelled as perfect transformation.

All the parts are self contained, the ease of transformation is not bad, an old goat like myself can still managed. And the result is stunning.

The inner frame is metal and gives structure, stability and a nice weight to the figure, and the outer armour are all made with quality ABS plastic with sharp details. There is no rubbery PVC to deal with, which is fantastic.

I cannot rave enough about this, it's worth the investment. Now, I am excited about the Strike Gundam which is the next release, actually coming out this month...you can check out the preview pictures under the gffn label.

Bandai GFFN 1/144 Strike Gundam

Official pics of the 1/144 G.F.F.N. Strike. The coloring is very sharp on the sample, and the grey highlights on the legs added clarity and definition.
