Review: Bandai Soul of Chogokin Shin Mazinger GX-45

So here it is, my Soul of Chogokin GX-45 Shin Mazinger Z...and I like it!

There are less accessories than before, just spare hands, hover pileder, jet scrander, and a display stand, but oh, what fun...

This version is smaller, more sleek, and very posable. To achieve the kneeling position, you actually need to pull out the hip joint to extend the range of movement, took me a bit to figure out.

There is just one hover pileder in this version, and it has folding wings and a clear plastic windshield unlike the fixed wings and painted windshield in the old version. The black finish also adds a little more elegance to the presentation.

Metal content are pretty much the same, that is to say, quite high. Only the mid torso, head, lower arms and hands, and I think the feet are made of plastic, but they all blend together nicely.

Remember the jet scrander from the GX-01R version that uses a shifting mechanism to change wing shape, well, this jet scrander uses an even more sophisticated system...to change from the V shape to A shape (or inverted V), you pull out the wings and flipped them over...

So although this doesn't come with the torso missile, I love every bit of it. However, if you haven't ordered this yet, you should hold on to your money because...thanks to Bandai, a brand new design Mazinger Z with the God Scrander will be added to the Soul of Chogokin line in Oct ( the whole thing transform into a fist). You can check out the next post to get an idea. I am guess a new design is needed to accommodate the transformation.
